Annual Company Law Conference 2023

This year’s Annual Company Law Conference organised by The Malta Law Academy was held on the 22^nd November 2023 at the Aula Magna of the UM Valletta Campus. Entitled  “New Perspectives, New Laws, New Challenges”, the speakers delved into topics ranging from the specific rights and duties emanating from the roles of the Company Secretary, the Official Receiver and the Sanctions Monitoring Board to the ever-growing theme of AI in the context of corporate governance.

Dr. Antoine Naudi, Partner within our Firm was invited as a guest speaker on fraudulent trading whereby he presented a very recent case delivered last May by the Court of Appeal in its superior jurisdiction in the names of Imnara Limited et -vs- Ronald Borg et, where the Court of Appeal overturned the First Hall’s finding of fraudulent trading and upheld the arguments of the appellants assisted by Dr. Naudi.
